The Portland Mercury review and release of the Chinook Book (where we have a coupon) have been great for SoupCycle! I’d say 10-15 new Soupetarians have signed up from these two sources alone. Most of our new customers are still from word-of-mouth though, which makes sense given our marketing budget that’s so small that it reminds me of the allowance my parents gave me when I was eight.
New customers is soooo good- it means we get to buy a new bike trailer from Blue Sky Cycle Carts and can start thinking about hiring our first soupy helpers to cycle soup and cut vegetables alongside of us till the wee hours of the morning. And boy do we cut some vegetables! If you’ve ever worked in a food company you know how long it takes to prepare high-quality foods from scratch.
In other news I got to go to Gathering Together Farm in Philomath, Oregon last week to pick up our wonderful vegetables! We bought some carrots from them that were thicker than my forearm. Next time I’m bringing my camera so you’ll believe me.
