There’s been a lot of interest in our delivery bikes, cargo trailers and what kind of gear we use to stay comfortable during long delivery days. Here’s the gear we use:
Trailer: Blue Sky Cycle Cart
Their website may not look like much but Blue Sky makes a mean and durable trailer that comes in lots of sizes. We use the XL trailer that has a 200 lb. carrying capacity. We’ve been using our Blue Sky trailers since we started SoupCycle in July and love ‘em.
Bikes: Varied
I’ve got a SUN recumbent trike with an Ecospeed Electric Mid-Drive. Our delivery gal Jen has an upright Trek hybrid. The electric mid-drive definitely makes things easier, particularly on hills. It also speeds up deliveries but isn’t a necessary item for heavy-load bicycle transportation.

Rain Gear: Showers Pass
I can’t say enough about Portland’s own Showers Pass. Their Elite 2.0 jacket and eVent rain pants vent amazingly well, cut the wind and keep the rain out- even after a full eight hours of soup deliveries in winter rain.
